ValuES is a global project that acts on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, which is funded under the framework of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The project advises and provides capacity building to technicians, advisers, academics and decision-makers in more than twenty partner countries, in issues related to identification, assessment, integration of ecosystem services in different areas of planning, policies and the implementation of concrete activities. To this end, the project develops instruments and training courses, provides technical advice and facilitates planning and decision-making processes. ValuES contributes to the development and dissemination of the results and products of the Intergovernmental Scientific-normative Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), while promoting the development and implementation of the results of the regional assessments in the countries. The project also promotes the exchange of knowledge through the systematization and socialization of experiences, the organization of regional meetings, together with the facilitation and coordination of events in global forums.
