The programme aims to support smallholder farmers  in the states of Campeche, Tabasco, Chiapas, Jalisco, Michoacan, Oaxaca, Puebla, Hidalgo and Tlaxcala to adapt and increase their production under climate change, to land-use management policy at a national and subnational levels and to promote innovative finance mechanisms to help the country achieve its SDGs, NDCs, and Biodiversity goals.

The program promotes the adaptation, restoration and conservation of rural landscapes, guaranteeing the food security and income of smallholders, thereby increasing their resilience. To this end, it will promote ecosystem-based adaptation strategies through sustainable production and the implementation of innovative financing mechanisms using an integrated approach to land-use planning by taking into account objectives related to food, biodiversity and climate change.
