In the framework of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), the program “Climate Protection in the Urban Policy of Mexico (CiClim) “, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, started its activities in August 2017.
Together with our main counterparts (SEDATU and SEMARNAT) and the cities with which we will work, we have identified Green Infrastructure as a measure of climate protection in Mexican urban policy. In this context an international forum will take place in March 2018.
As part of the forum, an exhibition will be held to present works that show examples of Green Infrastructure proposals or initiatives as an agent of climate action in the urban environment.
The summaries of the projects will be evaluated according to:
– connection with urban planning
– contributions to mitigation or adaptation to climate change
– emphasis on conservation and sustainable use of urban ecosystems
