During the workshop\u2019s welcoming remarks for the project in Mexico City<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sixty-six participants took part in the three workshops, 44 percent of whom were women and 56 percent men. The first \u201ctraining of trainers\u201d workshop was geared towards representatives of different international cooperation agencies such as the <em>Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.giz.de\/en\/worldwide\/33041.html\">GIZ<\/a>) GmbH<\/em>, the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iclei.org\/\">ICLEI<\/a>), the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c40.org\/\">C40<\/a> Cities Climate Leadership Group and the World Resources Institute (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wri.org\/\">WRI<\/a>). The workshops in CDMX and the municipality of Naucalpan de Ju\u00e1rez were attended by representatives from federal agencies such as the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.mx\/semarnat\">SEMARNAT<\/a>), the Ministry of the Environment (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sedema.cdmx.gob.mx\/\">SEDEMA<\/a>), the National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.mx\/conuee\">CONUEE<\/a>), the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.mx\/hacienda\">SHCP<\/a>), the Ministry of Energy (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.mx\/sener\">SENER<\/a>), the National Bank for Public Works and Services (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.mx\/banobras\">BANOBRAS<\/a>) and representatives of the <a href=\"https:\/\/naucalpan.gob.mx\/\">municipal government of Naucalpan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The workshops were held from February 5 to 7, 2019; during the three days, participating institutions learned more about the purpose of the FELICITY global program in Mexico and the opportunities it creates for the preparation and structuring of investment-grade low-carbon infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17171\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17171\" style=\"width: 604px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17171 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iki-alliance.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"604\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iki-alliance.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-12.jpg 604w, https:\/\/iki-alliance.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2-12-360x203.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-17171\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: GIZ. Itzel Alc\u00e9rreca during her presentation on the FELICITY Global Program in Mexico City.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To conclude the workshop, participants completed an evaluation of the training, the results of which were satisfactory.<\/p>\n<p>FELICITY is an initiative implemented by GIZ, with the support of the European Investment Bank (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eib.org\/en\/index.htm?lang=en#\">EIB<\/a>) and Germany\u2019s Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmu.de\/en\/\">BMU<\/a>), that provides technical assistance in the development of low-carbon infrastructure projects in cities.<\/p>\n<p>SOURCE is a project development platform designed to help projects, from their conception, establish contact with possible funding sources; it is financed and led by Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) in response to the G20 to address the global infrastructure gap.
