Initial situation 

Building on the work of previous projects and within the framework of the Mitigation Action Implementation Network (MAIN) for the implementation of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs), the project supports emerging economies and developing countries in Latin America and Asia in designing ambitious NAMAs. This includes expanding the MAIN network, encouraging policymaking teams in developing countries to develop more ambitious sectoral policies and design even more effective financing mechanisms, as well as helping the strongest NAMA secure financing.

CCAP will bring together GCF Board members and key UNFCCC negotiators to demonstrate how NAMAs can serve as fundamental pillars for more ambitious commitments in Paris and as key elements of the implementation process after Paris, defining a pathway toward a low-carbon and more resilient future.
